The First Game Experiment

The First Game Experiment

As some of you might know our first game named JetBus came out 2 weeks ago. I thought I’d share our goals for this game and also discuss a bit our findings of how the Flash game industry “seems” to work, I say “seems” because with only 1 game released there is no way we can take anything for granted, maybe not even after 10 games released. This will be just my personal opinion of Flash games, casual players, portals, APIs etc.

Weekly Update – 28 Nov 2010

Weekly Update – 28 Nov 2010

Hi everyone, I though today I would start making the “Games” part of the Weekly Update a bit more detailed, pick one game that stands out and comment it a bit more and also give it my personal rating. I don’t know if I’ll turn it into a separate post in the future or if the Weekly Update will turn into Weekly Games, I don’t know but for now this will suffice.

FDT 4 Review

FDT 4 Review

I’m really excited to be reviewing FDT4! I’ll try not to be influenced by the fact that I simply love this software so I hope I can keep this as neutral as possible. I will actually point out other options, their pros and cons as well as the pros and cons of FDT4. Bare in mind that I’m by no means an expert in all of these editors and I will probably miss a lot of features and not be accurate about all editors, I count on help from comments to point out any mistakes which I will promptly correct.

Weekly Update – 21 Nov 2010

Ok, its that time of the week and once again here I am with an excuse for not having much to talk about… this time its because I’m writing an extensive review on a piece of software, the review should be up today or tomorrow and there’s still a lot to talk about but enough about that, here’s some stuff that is worth mentioning this week…

JetBus Bidding Process

JetBus Bidding Process

So, RedBandana (basically my company’s game “division”) finished its first Flash game (JetBus) a while back and we uploaded it to FlashGameLicense in the hopes of finding a sponsor for it. We are completely new to the Flash games market and apart from a few tips we had before uploading the game we pretty much didn’t know what to do or what to expect.

I’ll try to detail a chronology, list of bids, list of views and some graphs for analysis.

“Getting your Flash game sponsored” Book Review

When I learned that Ryan Wolniak from Freelance Flash Games was writing a guide about selling Flash games I was really interested and have been curious for its release even since. The book came out on last Monday, 25th of October, under the name “Getting your Flash game sponsored” and promises a step-by-step guide with 186 pages separated into 6 chapters that will help Flash developers getting their games sponsored.

Free Pixel Fonts

Free Pixel Fonts

As promised before here is a set of 10 pixel fonts and smooth pixel fonts that I’ve made a while ago. These fonts used to be for sale at a website I had called iconType however I have now decided to rebrand them with my name and make them downloadable.

This set of 10 free fonts do not contain all the fonts I’ve made, there are 5 fonts that I’m not making free yet and some more that I never will since they were custom made and licensed to clients and friends. But I hope these will be useful for your Flash projects, each one is very unique and might fit into projects making them look distinct.

Anyway there are 10 fonts families, 9 with 4 styles and 1 with 6 styles making a total of 42 fonts that I hope you use and enjoy.
